The Scott County Economic Development Corporation and the City of Scottsburg are partnering with Ivy Tech Corporate College to provide a Welding Institute at the Mid-America Science Park. A wide spectrum of training opportunities are available for companies, employees and students.
Ivy Tech’s Welding Institute is a 40-week program that includes instruction and hands-on lab activities. Participants will have an opportunity to train on state-of-the-art equipment, including robotic welders and welding simulators, in MASPark’s new welding lab.
Classes meet 7.5 hours a day, four days a week. The Welding Institute focuses on technology, with math, reading and writing exercises embedded in class projects. All assignments will be completed in class.
Participants will earn a Technical Certificate in Industrial Technology and be prepared for additional certifications. Credits can also be applied toward an Associate of Applied Science degree. For more information, please click here.
