“The Mid-America Science Park is making higher education more accessible to residents in and around Scott County,” said Randy Proffitt, Ivy Tech’s executive director of marketing and communications. “Area residents can learn valuable skills that are in high demand from area employers or transfer their Ivy Tech credits to most any university in the Midwest. MASPark provides a convenient location where students have access to the most affordable college education in Indiana.”
Ivy Tech also is offering a Welding Institute at MASPark. The 40-week program includes instruction and hands-on lab activities. Classes focus on technology, with math, reading and writing exercises embedded in class projects. The Welding Institute was created in response to a growing demand for welders with advanced skills in Southern Indiana. Classes are in session now, and a grand opening ceremony will be held at MASPark on April 15.
