The annual Regional Business Expo has become one of the fastest growing networking events in Southern Indiana. The event recently brought together more than 100 exhibitors and 400 business leaders for a day of networking at the Mid-America Science Park in Scottsburg.
The goal of the event is to encourage collaborative growth in the region and its growing popularity is exciting for organizers as well as regional businesses.
Major employers like Samtec, Tokusen and MODRoto were at the Regional Business Expo to raise awareness about their operations and community involvement. Their reviews of the event were positive in terms of the number of attendees and opportunities to network with other businesses.
Scott County School District 2 elementary students had fun teaching adults for a change. With iPads in hand, they discussed how students leverage a variety of digital learning options to complete assignments and interact with their teachers.
The Scott County Partnership was onsite to share information on their programs with local employers. The Partnership offers a number of opportunities that have a positive impact on the community and quality of life. For example, they work with businesses to offer employee programs on topics such as parenting and substance abuse prevention.
The event has grown tremendously over the last few years. The number of 2015 exhibitors represented a 35% increase year over year. In 2014, the number of exhibitors more than doubled making the Regional Business Expo one of the larger networking opportunities in Southern Indiana.
Ranging from small businesses to large manufacturers, exhibitors represented the diversity of the regional economy. Attendees had the opportunity to meet service providers, retailers, artists, education providers, print and broadcast media and more.
The 2015 Regional Business Expo was a four-county effort presented by:
• Madison Area Chamber of Commerce;
• Greater Scott County Chamber of Commerce;
• Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and
• Jennings County Chamber of Commerce.
